It has been my pleasure to be the honorary chairman of the JEB BUSH Florida Classic for the past 12 years, and I am pleased to serve in that position for this year’s event. This wonderful, multi-day event features a variety of athletic competitions and social functions, all of which benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, an organization that I am very proud to support.

The Foundation is one of the most cost-efficient health charities in the country, and constantly earns praise as an “organization that won’t waste your money.” In fact, nearly 90 cents of every dollar raised is available for investment in Foundation-support programs, including cutting-edge research and top quality care for the 30,000 children and adults in the US with the disease.

Our 13th year promises to be the best yet. I hope you will join me and help make a difference in the lives of everyone with CF. Working together, we can truly add tomorrows every day!

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-threatening genetic disease affecting an estimated 30,000 children and adults in the United States. Currently, there is no cure. The challenge of the CF Foundation is to raise the research dollars to assure the development of the means to cure and control CF and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease. In 2005, more than 90 cents of every dollar raised was available for investment in vital CF programs. In recognition for its work, the CF Foundation has been cited by such publications as SmartMoney and Forbes for its efficiency and for its innovative approach to curing a genetic disease.
